Some stuff scraped off of Craigslist

Got an absolutely colossal Craigslist feed set up, and am now scouring it for good leads:

EDiscovery Document Professional (Austin, Tx) (20-25/hr, 50hrs/week)

CBS Interactive: Catalog & Metadata Administrator (San Francisco)

Search/Viral Marketing Specialist (Harford County, MD)
(if you take this job, you are a waste of skin, but here it is anyway)

Biological Data Curator (Ann Arbor)
(Must have masters in biology, MLS a plus. I think they may be looking for a while. But hey, if you've got one, good on ya.)

Mass Digitization Project Specialist, University of California ($53,136 - $74,352) (SF Bay Area, East Bay)
If you have project management experience, at least, this is likely.

Some more jobs

Via Craigslist, we have the following:

Via LISjobs:

(Stalk rich people online in order to beg them for money)

(That's San Antonio. It is a gigantic base. ~2 year appointment.)

(NOT DC area, defense contractor)

Some more special library jobs

Via LISjobs, we have a few:

Centers for Disease Control - Librarian (GS-9), Atlanta, Georgia

Federal Bureau of Investigation - Technical Information Specialist (GS-7 to GS-9), Las Vegas, Nevada
(Las Vegas is kind of like all the worst aspects of Tucson with all the best aspects of Phoenix, if you've not had the pleasure of exploring it. That's only roughly half as miserable as it sounds, actually.)

Air Force Materiel Command - Librarian (YA-02), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

Council on Foreign Relations - Part Time Library Assistant (14-15/hr), Washington DC
(10 hours per week, obviously this one won't pay for itself...but it ought to have some unique networking opportunities if that's your thing.)

Defense Security Cooperation Agency - Librarian (YA-02), Heidelberg, Germany
(Sounds like a sweet gig)

Some of these have closing dates within the next week, so hop to it.

It's getting a little late, and I've got to rebuild my Craigslist feed, so I'll get back to you all with some more.

Jobs, Job Searching and Scholarships

One website that I look at often for library jobs is www.LISjobs.com. They recently reworked their entire website and now there is a lot of information regarding education, scholarships and job searching.

Under the Job Seekers tab, you can click on Job ads to see the most recent listings, but there is also a section that has links to resume resources, searching advice and salary information.

Under the Career Development tab, there are several links including a blog that is based on the book Rethinking Information Careers which is used in 504.

Under the Education tab, click on the scholarships link and there is a lot of information there.

Also, the Hire Me workshop part 2 Interviewing for Library Positions: Professional Tips and Techniques for Successful Interviews will be held on November 21st at 5pm in the Library Meeting Rooms 313/314.
